ICANEWS Julio / Agosto 2008, Año 4 # 17
Tears
by Javier Adderly
Instituto Superior San José – Tandil

How many times I've gone through this,
I can't get my mind out of it.
Senses of anger, melancholy, at times tears in my eyes.
With all the changes of seasons of my mind,
with nobody to share the feelings deep inside my soul.
Perhaps it's just a subtle warning,
or is it just a period of my life?

Running over the same old scenes,
Forgetting the times at once:
Shedding tears,
calling out for help.
Waking for some answers,
though I'm getting older and nobody knocks at the door!
Maybe I wasn't meant to get it right...

And when I feel alone,
And when darkness is still there,
I guess I have to make it real,
I suppose I have to fight for it.
What for, anyway?
Rage of broken hearts,
Wrath of those in cages,
Dreams of freedom, peace...

Dropping a tear when feeling tied up
now it's time I went home.
Will it be easy or not?

Javier Adderly is currently in his third year of teacher training at Instituto “San José” Superior DIPREGEP 4808, Tandil. Highly imaginative and inquisitive, he defines himself as a “bookworm” although he has a variety of interests other than reading. He likes writing poems, wants to learn French and Latin, and is a heavy-metal enthusiast.
This poem was produced as a free writing assignment in class, for the subject Written Expression III.
