Why taking drugs?
by Jimena Sánchez Peña
ICA Student- level 8
I think that one of the biggest concerns in society is the large number of people that uses drugs to escape from problems. Every day, it is more common to see how, especially teenagers, use marihuana because they need to forget all about their worries. Some of them start taking drugs because they feel they don't receive the attention they need, because they have family problems. Others frequently want to be accepted and be part of a group or they consume drugs just for fun.

Another reason why this happens is that nowadays getting drugs is so accessible that when teenagers go to discos or concerts they are very used to seeing drugs and to seeing how drug peddlers offer them to any boy or girl. Teenagers feel so much peer pressure that they finally say: “Yes, it won't hurt me.” But what they really don't know is that consuming drugs is not only illegal but it is also something you choose to consume that will make your problems worse.
