Why
do we work out? To look good , to live longer? Maybe we
work out because the heart needs a stage
- a setting that resonates with life's intensity. Perhaps,
the soul needs to express itself through
motions.
Many people need an opportunity to express the power of
their being through motions. Aerodance provides such an
opportunity. It moves people from the inside. As it develops
fitness and better health, it also frees
emotions and evokes fulfilling sensations.
Besides carving external appearance, it helps to shape body
awareness, coordination and greater movement
skill.
Rhythmic exercise performed to music is one thing, but aerodance
is another. It is an aerobic class where there is a combination
of jazz exercises, hip hop, break dance, modern and neoclassic
movements. It is a class for those students who prefer dancer
form of work-out to enjoy their full physical potential,
maybe because they have natural abilities or have studied
dance. Maybe they have lost touch with their creative roots,
or have never had the chance to let those roots grow. Maybe
they cannot find a class that satisfies their creative nature.
Whatever the circumstance, it is important to cultivate
this type of classes for those people. Otherwise,
their unique abilities are not addressed or go unused.
The overall attitude in an aerodance class
is different - it reaches deeper into the soul. It involves
greater sensitivity to structure, shape,
texture and line. There is more focus on the body/mind connection,
in the here and now, and less on end results after activity
stops.
Aerodance is a chance to discover total integration of body,
mind and spirit. Most people have the potential to dance,
it is in the human nature. The only challenge
in this type of classes is to be able to enjoy the connection
between the music and our bodies. It is a matter of discovering
emotions throughout motion. |
