As everybody knows, there is a lot of crime in Mar del Plata nowadays.
Vandalism, robbery, and pick pocketing are more often everywhere.
Moreover, the thieves are even younger. As I’m not an exception I’m going to tell you something that happened to me and my friend Nadia.
Every Friday, we walk back home from school and my dad takes us to gym by car. One Friday we were walking home when we heard that someone called us. We didn’t turn around, but I suddenly saw that a boy stopped next to me. He was on a bike and had a knife! I was very scared and he said “Give me your cell phone.” “I don’t have it” “I don’t have it neither” Nadia, my friend said. He insisted, but we didn’t give him our phones. “Well, give me money,” he shouted. “Here you are,” Nadia said and gave the boy $10. “Wait, I’ll look for it,” I also said really nervously. I took the pencil case out of my bag, because I sometimes have money there, but that time I didn’t have anything so I offered the pencil case to him! Of course, he didn’t want it so I told him I would look for my wallet. I found it and offered it to the thief. “How much do you have?” he asked. I opened it but I didn’t have any money there! “Well,” the boy finally said, “I’ll go.” I was in a shock, so I started to cry, and I couldn’t move. “Guada, come on! He has gone! Let’s go home!” my friend said. She started to take me home, dragging me since I couldn’t move. Suddenly, she started to laugh. She was in a shock, too.
Our city is dangerous even during the day, so we have to be careful. We should not go out alone and with our mobiles at sight. In my case, my mother wants me to start karate soon. I am thinking about it seriously… |
